Predeceased by his parents, Rear Admiral Frank and Kathleen Houghton, and his former wife Gail. Don passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospice on July 7, 2017 at the age of 68. He battled his cancer with courage and faced his death with optimism, love and support - still learning, still growing and grateful. He was not in pain and he was not alone. His last weeks were filled with thought, hope, love and denial and would probably be baffled he didn't think to write this himself beforehand. Joyce passed away at Victoria General Hospital on Friday, September 22, 2017. Born in Torquay, SK on March 8, 1933 she is predeceased by her husband, Huib Doornenbal; and son, Douglas Doornenbal.  Joyce is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Barb (David); son, Bruce; daughter-in-law, Sandra; and grandchildren, Jenna, Jeff, Steven and Mark.
