Forever an independent spirit, Barb Roberts passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospice on June 28, 2016 after a long illness. Barb loved nature, gardening, fishing, birds and most of all, her devoted partner Dave Holmgren and her beloved daughter Rachel Murray. Born in Winnipeg in 1958, Barb moved to Victoria as a child and went to school in Oak Bay. She worked as a contractor at Camosun College and for clients across the city. Barb had a big smile and a big heart and will be dearly missed. In addition to Rachel (Cisco) and Dave, she leaves behind her sisters Pearl (Roger), Gwen (Sitwat), stepdaughter Whitney and granddaughter Madison, nieces Andrea and Heather, good friends Sue and KJ, and many others who remember Barb from the days at the lake and games night at her house. Rest well dear Barbie.
Donations can be made in Barb’s memory to the Victoria Hospice Society or the BC Cancer Society.

I am very sorry to read of Barbara’s passing. I saw her in our Medical clinic some 4 or 5 months ago, not having seen her since she was 10 years old. She was very pleased clearly to be reacquainted, as was I.
