It is with great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Barbara at home January 22, 2020 with her partner/husband at her side.
Born in Middleton, NS on October 1, 1954 (aged 65), she was the eldest daughter of James and Jean (Acker) Deyotte. Predeceased by her mother, Jean; father, James; brother, Michael; and her beloved cat of 19 years, Maceo, Barbara is survived by her partner/husband of 32 years, Stuart Veinotte; her son, Jordan (Brandee) Duffy of Victoria BC, Her sister, Shannon Deyotte of Bridgewater, NS; and her extended family.
Barbara was a registered community worker for over 37 years, a job she dearly loved as she cared for the people she assisted. She had just chosen to retire at the end of October 2019.
Barbara loved her books, B/W movies, SciFi, medical shows, all things Dinosaurs and her plants. She highly enjoyed spending time with her son and daughter-in-law; her long-time friend, Pamela and her daughter, Jacquelynn.
Arrangements have been kept private and celebration of her life will be held at a later date. We would like to extend our undying thanks to the team of professionals that responded to the call for help. Donations in her memory can be made to the charity of one’s choice.

I am so saddened by this sudden passing I am crying as I write this. To everyone she has touched throughout her life, more tragic news could not exist. Stuart, I can’t begin to say how sorry I am for your loss. We love you and are there in spirit. All my deepest sympathy
I am so sorry to hear this news. Condolences to all. I met Barb (and Stuart) in the 1990’s. Barb was not only a very caring person, she had an awesome sense of humor. Sometimes you didn’t know it was funny until you looked at Barb and saw that twinkle in her eye! And she would laugh because she knew she “got you”. I have nothing but good memories of Barb. Rest in Peace Barb. You are in my thoughts and we will meet again.
