OLSON, Brenda M (nee Ebert)
June 26,1949 – May 11, 2014
Surrounded by her loving family, Brenda passed away peacefully at home on Mother’s Day, May 11, 2014 after a courageous 15 year battle with cancer.
She will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Brenda is predeceased by her father and mother, Norbert and Theresa Ebert, and mother in law, Eva Bell. She is survived by Larry, her loving husband and best friend of 47 years; daughter, Lisa Dalep (Davindar); son, Rob Olson (Cindy); and her precious granddaughter, Kiera. She is also survived by her brothers, Lyle Ebert (Wendy) and Gary Ebert (Judy).
Brenda moved to Victoria with her parents and brothers from Humboldt Saskatchewan at the age of 11. She met her best friend and soul mate at age 13 and later married in 1967.
Brenda’s joy in life was taking care of her family and her love for flowers and gardening brightened her home.
Brenda worked in various jobs including supporting Larry in many of their businesses. She then worked for the provincial government for many years up until her retirement. She made lifelong friendships with many of her co-workers.
In her retirement, Brenda really enjoyed travelling abroad with family and friends. Brenda loved spending summers camping up island and fishing at Otter Point in Sooke.
She adored spending time with her granddaughter, Kiera who would love every chance to play babies with her Camma.
Brenda will be remembered for her caring, kindness and love of life. She will be greatly missed by all who were touched by her.
Special thank you to Dr. McNaughton and Dr. Fenton, and all the nurses at the chemo ward at the cancer clinic, as well, thank you to her friends and family who helped so much during the last month with her care.
We love you mom…. to space and back.
Funeral service to be held Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 1:00 pm at First Church of the Nazarene, 4277 Quadra Street.
