Remembering Carl Everett Anshelm, born in Kenaston, Sask on July 28, 1928 and deceased January 13th, 2018 in Victoria. Carl is predeceased by his twin brother Clifford, younger brother Earl and elder sister Geraldine. He is remembered by his sister Lenore (Susie) Nickel; children Wayne Anshelm, Vicki Bathurst and Gale Anshelm; grandchildren: Brady, Daniel, Meghan and Matthew.
Carl’s grandson Brady recalls visiting ‘Gramps’ hobby farm where he would put him and his brother Dan in the feeding trough and pile hay over the boys so they could get close and pet the giant Highland cattle. His grandson Matt remembers sensible gifts, such as a watch and an atlas to find his way around in the world. His granddaughter remembers lovely conversations and Gramps love and support.
Carl lived for over 60 years on Vancouver Island, was a School Trustee in Port Alberni, as well as a member of the Harbour Commission. His family will scatter some of his ashes in Victoria this spring and there will be a memorial space for him in Armstrong BC, where his son Wayne lives.
