September 2, 1989 – July 8, 2015. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful daughter, Elise. She was a rare and fragile being who left us much too young. Along with friends and family, we grieve and miss her terribly. Elise is survived by her parents, Odette and Eric, and her sister, Tessa.
Despite her own challenges, Elise would always reach out with comfort, support, encouragement and advice to those who were in need. She never gave up on anyone and could see through the external barriers and defences to find the beauty and value of the person beneath – often when others could not. Elise touched and influenced the lives of many more through her involvement with the eating disorder community.
Please consider making a donation to the Elise Skoglund Bursary to be administered through the Looking Glass Foundation for Eating Disorders. The Looking Glass Foundation has and continues to provide critical services to individuals suffering the all too frequent fatal effects of this terrible disease.
