I was saddened to discover Pat’s passing. This remembrance doesn’t mention Pat’s academic achievements. She was a wonderful scholar in Old and Middle English at the University of Toronto, and also performed expert editorial work for Descant, the literary journal.
Most of all, I will always remember Pat’s kindness. She was a perfect friend, thinking of others with great empathy and sensitivity. Her parents were lovely, too, representing the very best of what I love about the English.
I was sorry to hear of Pat’s passing. Condolences to Tony and Gerry
