Esther Mar

November 30, 1929 – June 19, 2020, Esther Mar, loving sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital in the early morning of June 19, 2020 after suffering a major stroke earlier in the week. Esther was born and raised in Victoria BC. She eventually married husband Alex and moved to Courtenay B.C. where she spent most of her life raising her family and helping with the family restaurant business, until she finally moved to Victoria in 1999. Jim passed away suddenly on April 14, 2020 at his home in the Mount Douglas Seniors Residence in Victoria, BC.  He was 81. Jim was born on June 5, 1938 in Bennettsville, South Carolina, the second son of Hon. My dear father, Lorne Wonnick, passed away peacefully August 15, 2019. He died suddenly of a brain aneurysm while staying on Lasquiti Island. Olaug Henny Opdahl

Born on August 26, 1925 in Arnes, Norway, Olaug died on March 18, 2020 in Victoria, BC following a long struggle with dementia. Predeceased by her husband, Kasper, Olaug is survived by her children: Marit, Albert (Gaby), Harlow, Laila (Glen) and Sonia, as well as 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
